Statement of Commitment
Content
After attending Module 2 - Making Change, your next step is to submit your Statement of Commitment, the first submission of your Artsmark journey.
We strongly recommend you submit this within three months of attending training. This is in order to have time to put in place your action research whilst also keeping up the momentum and enthusiasm that led you to register for Artsmark.
Guidance
Your Statement of Commitment should:
Outline your setting’s ambitions for arts and cultural education, detailing how you plan to develop and improve your provision over the next two years in line with the Artsmark Framework.
Reflect your vision, priorities, and planned actions, showing how the arts will be embedded across your curriculum and wider school life.
Highlight how you will engage staff, pupils, and external partners, and how your plans align with the Arts Council’s Quality Principles. This is your opportunity to set clear intentions for your Artsmark journey.
The acceptance of your Statement of Commitment marks the start of you carrying out your first cycle of action research. Once you have submitted your Statement of Commitment, you now have two years to work on embedding culture and creativity in your curriculum by working towards the goals you have set out.
Our Artsmark Assessors with refer to your Statement of Commitment, along with your Statement of Impact when they come to assess your award.
